Obituary of Dorothy Roberta Klopstad

Dorothy Roberta Klopstad, 86, passed away May 4, 2021.  Roberta was born June 28, 1934 in Pierre, South Dakota to Daniel and Dorothy Schenk.  Her family moved to Sumner, WA In 1939.  She was raised on a 12 acre farm with seven siblings; attending Sumner schools with a record of perfect attendance and graduating in 1952.  Roberta was baptized and confirmed at the Mountain View Lutheran Church.  Roberta married Marvin Klopstad on October 30, 1954.  They raised two children, Dennis and Linda.  They lived in Sumner, Diablo, Metaline Falls, Seattle, Kent and Federal Way.  Roberta was employed at Valley Variety, Seattle City Credit Union, JC Penneys and Clark Lift.  The family traveled across the United States visiting relatives and enjoying sights along the way.  They also traveled to Norway and Germany to visit relatives and explore another country.  Roberta loved her dachshunds and raised several over the years.  She enjoyed knitting, sewing and gardening in her spare time.  Roberta was very involved in her two grandchildren lives.  She loved her family and was very much loved and appreciated by them.  She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.  Roberta is survived by her husband Marvin of 66 years, her children Dennis and Linda (Ray), her grandchildren Ray Jr. (Alison) and Anna, her sisters Frances and Marie and brother Leon.
