Obituary of Helen Maurana

Helen was born on June 6, 1923 to Miklas and Anna Kovalcik in Matysova, Slovakia. She traveled to the United States to live with her aunt and uncle when she was 14 years old, settling in Erie, PA.

Helen met her husband Fanio Maurana and they were married January 26, 1946. They had two daughters, Marlene and Michele. Sadly, Michele passed away in 1971. Helen cared for Michele devotedly. Besides being a housewife, super cook and flower gardener, Helen sold Avon for many years. After Fanio passed, Helen moved to the Seattle area, residing at Brookdale Foundation House Federal Way.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Marlene (Ed), Grandson’s, Scott (Susan), Bryan (Jody) and Daniel (Sarie); Along with six great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 10:30 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Fife.

Interment will be at Skylawn Memorial Park, San Mateo, CA.
