Obituary of Sharon Rae Proctor

On Saturday, January 23, 2021, Sharon Rae Proctor, loving wife and mother of five children departed this Earth for heaven after suffering a sudden stroke, at the age of 83.

Sharon along with her identical twin sister were born on April 26, 1937 in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado to Silas Gilbert and Amy Jane (Neal) Ashley.  Sharon had five siblings. In birth order their names were:  Rita Arlene, Eloise, Thomas Mayo, Nellie Mae, and her twin sister Glenda Kae.  Sharon and her twin sister were the only children of the family that were born in a hospital.  All of her siblings, were born at their homestead in Sheridan Lake, Colorado.

Sharon graduated from Canyon City High School in 1955.  She married the Love of her Life, Silas Marvin Proctor on August 5, 1956.  They were married for 64 years and were pillars of what marriage, family, and love are all about.

They raised five children together. Sharon became a homemaker and was dedicated to raising her family. The children in birth order are:  Leonard, Pamela, Candace, Scott, and Alan.

Sharon was a devout follower of Jesus and instilled that same love in her children. She faithfully attended church each week and brought her children with her. She enjoyed reading The Bible and praying for God’s protection and blessing. She made sure to give her finances and time to different ministries.  She attended Belmont Baptist Church when she lived in Colorado, then attended Northwest Church in Federal Way in Washington.

Sharon was dedicated to raising her family.  She had a passion for the sport of bowling, playing cards (Pinochle and Bridge), reading, and bargain shopping. Sharon was known for her strong faith in Jesus, her infectious smile, her caring attitude, and her love for family and friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Silas Gilbert Ashley, her mother, Amy Jane Neal, her sister, Rita Arline Rehm, her sister, Eloise Ashley, her brother, Thomas Ashley, and her sister, Nellie Mae Harms.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Silas Marvin Proctor, her twin sister, Glenda Cingoranelli, her sons, Leonard Proctor,  Scott (Kristine) Proctor,  Alan (Erin) Proctor, her daughters Pamela (Brad) Vogt,  Candace (Wesley) Helm, her grandchildren: Matthew (Connie) Helm, Jason Vogt, Jared Helm, Chelsea Greenwood, Justin Proctor, Rachel (Steven) Rose, Kammi (Jordan) Mundo, Alyssa Proctor, Riley Proctor and her great grandchildren: Drake Smith and Emmett Helm.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 1, 2021, at Northwest Church, 34800 21st Ave SW, Federal Way, WA at 1:00 o’clock pm.  Viewing is at noon prior to the service.  Please send all flowers and donations to Northwest Church, Federal Way, Attn: Pastor Scott Dungan.
