Karen Erickson

Obituary of Karen Lee Erickson

Karen Lee Erickson was born  on November 27, 1951 in Seattle to John and Lorna Erickson and passed away on January 20, 2021 at the age of 69.

Karen was perhaps best known for her smiles, playful teasing, and spreading love with her “Hi Sweetheart” greeting.

Karen loved holidays, especially Santa Claus and Christmas songs, working at the gift shop, days off and keeping her home in order and running smoothly, going to the Rainier School coffee shop and McDonald’s for hamburgers, french fries, pop, lots of coffee and ice cream, then collecting job applications while there. Karen liked going shopping, asking for and getting $2 dollars so she could walk up to get her daily pop. She loved wearing Mardi Gras necklaces and celebrating her birthday with a "big chocolate cake that mom made"  with candles and a song!” When she wasn’t working, Karen could be found looking at magazines, books or coloring. She loved to sing songs she knew and would dance as she walked, laughing with a big smile on her face.

She was preceded in passing by her loving father. She leaves behind her mother, Lorna, sisters Mistie, Chris, Joan, numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, as well as many loving and caring friends and family at Rainier School. We would like to thank the dedicated and loving Rainier School staff who cared for her for the last 67 years.
