I'm a little late in writing this but after 50 years of being friends with the Martin girls I should get a pass on being late. I have many memories of Muriel but it is my last memory of her that will always make me smile. It was when my husband Gary, sister Carol, and her husband John stopped by to visit Liz and her mum at Muriel's home. We all sat down and shared tea with Muriel for what was to be my first and unfortunately last time. What a befitting final memory of a lovely English lady.

Muriel Martin and husband Denny were always popping into my life—in random encounters be it at the Issaquah Theatre, Bellevue Square, or Sunday Mass. Serendipity was always at play.
I was caught off guard one Sunday at St. James Cathedral, Seattle when Muriel and Denny stood up, walked to the altar to bring up gifts (ritual). Muriel had said that was their only ever visit to St. James.
I was also privy to see all of their adult children grow into maturity as I, the oddball uncle, popped in now and then at family gatherings.
Though I was friends initially with Liz and Anne, I grew to know Muriel as a friend who counseled me on real estate, relationships and why is it that Liz isn’t finding a lifelong relationship; and what were my thoughts about that!
Muriel once asked: “When will I get an invite to “Tea at your new condo?” Finally I said: “You’re invited to brunch.” But Muriel insisted that it was “Tea.”
Serendipitously, again, at that Tea, Muriel ran into a another guest that she knew, Father Jim.
A real pistol and long time vacationer, Muriel insisted that, at age 85, she would travel to Great Britain—by herself! She planned each step of the trip and though her family tried, no one could stop her. She went to Britain and all went very well as rides were arranged each step of the way.
You, Muriel Martin, will be missed by all!

Muriel was my dad’s ’favourite’ cousin, he was so fond of her and he would often reminisce about her and her sister Mary, about Auntie Ag, Uncle Ernie and George - such a close family.
When Muriel and Denny emigrated, they built their own close family but also remained very involved with all their Liverpudlian relatives. Over the years we were fortunate to meet on various, happy, occasions both here and in America and Muriel was always interested in what was happening in our family, especially when our grandchildren arrived.
She was such a lovely, warm, charismatic lady who always thought the best of people and showed a genuine interest in them. All our family will forever remember her laughter and her never forgotten sharp, scouse, sense of humour.
We send our deepest condolences to all the family.

Muriel was my maternal aunt. While she was bringing up her family in Seattle, we were in Liverpool, where I also attended Bellerive and was proud to see her name on the board of Head Girls' names.
There were several visits in our direction which built treasured memories. In 2013 I was privileged to be able to spend some time with Muriel and the wider family whilst I was visiting Virginia Mason Hospital. Those special days are very dear to me.
Muriel was funny, clever, elegant and warm. Her closest family cared for her with great love and dignity in her final months. If there is a 'good death', this was indeed an example. She will be missed by many but her legacy of love and faith lives on.
with love to all of the bereaved

Truly a beautiful tribute to our Mother, Claire! She loved you dearly and she also treasured that time spent with you here in the Seattle area. You were kind and generous hosts for her last two visits to England. You ensured that she (and I!) had a wonderful stay!

Family was everything to mom! She cherished our many family get-togethers for holidays and birthdays, girls getaways, craft days...so many wonderful memories shared with our creative, fun-loving, smart and witty mother.
I will miss you so very much, Mom! You were an inspiring matriarch of our loving family!
Love you always, Mom.

I’ve always loved this photo of Mom as I feel it depicts her as a young free-spirited woman ( or maybe she was running away from us 6 kids lol) ! Words can’t express how much I will miss my funny, caring, protective and loving Mom ...but I know she’s in a wonderful place now with Dad and I take comfort in that! Love you always Mom❤️

There are absolutely no words to express my love for my dearest neighbor of 47 years. She was such a ray of sunshine. We enjoyed going shopping, going for coffee, and she always had coffee and cookies ready for everyone who was blessed to know her.
She would pull her shade up every morning to tell me she was ok. Now I look over and shade is down...she is with Denny.
I miss you Muriel. You will always be in my ❤️,
Dreams and memories.
