Dixie Strobelt

Obituary of Dixie Strobelt

We are sad to share the news that our dear mother, Dixie Ann Thomas Strobelt, peacefully left this world the morning of October 27, 2020, she is survived by her sons Paul Thomas Strobelt, and David Evan Strobelt.  She was a light to the world. A friendly and peaceful sort…always offering a smile, generous laughter, and great conversation.  She was the apple of her husband's eye, William Evan Strobelt, joyfully married July 19, 1958, bound for eternity in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  We know she is overjoyed to be reunited with Evan, her loving parents Elmer Golden Thomas and Mary Wanlass Hutchings, dear sister Mary Kathleen (Kay) Thomas, along with aunts and uncles, cousins, neighbors, classmates, work colleagues and friends too numerous to mention.

In Dixie's life she was a fulltime mother, and a certified Mental Health Counselor with a M.S. Degree from Eastern Washington University, and a B.A. Degree at Evergreen State College, WA.  Upon receiving her Masters, Dixie provided personal and family counseling as a service to the community for many years.  In her early years, she worked as an Administrative Assistant at both Boeing and Green River Community College where she received a A.A. Degree.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at 11:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 625 M Street, Auburn, WA.

Interment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th Street, Kent, WA
