Alice Snow Moore Barcus

Obituary of Alice Nadine Snow Moore Barcus

Nadine was born into the large family of Troy and Bessie Snow on February 22, 1935 in Mounds, Oklahoma. Her Oklahoma roots held until she entered high school in Artesia, New Mexico, where her family had moved.

That friendly, outgoing Oklahoma heritage followed her for a lifetime. She was proud to be an Okie, and she never met a stranger.

In 1964 she moved to Tacoma, Washington with her three children, an adventure that lasted until 2020. In the wee hours of June 20, she quietly passed away with her daughters at her side.

Our Okie was a gifted story teller, recounting episode after episode of her growing years. Right after the Great Depression.

We were so blessed with her stories that we had to start raising our hands if we had already heard the adventure. It never did deter her, however. She would go on as though there weren’t hands raised all over the room!

Nadine is survived by her daughters Sandie (Jimmy) Barlow, LaDonna (James) Williams, Nine grandchildren (Jackie, Kadra, Diana, Andrea, Jameson, David, Emily, Tiffany and Kimberly) and eighteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, all siblings, her infant daughter Mary Lucinda Moore, her son Robert and granddaughter Michelle Katherine Barlow.

We will sorely miss our dear Okie Gigi.

Due to Covid-19 there will be no services.
