Obituary of Sharyl Ann Barrick

Sharyl Ann Barrick

November 18, 1943 to January 20, 2020

Sharyl Ann (Weekly, Peterson, Schmahl) Barrick passed peacefully at her Federal Way home surrounded by family on January 20, 2020 at the age of 76. She will be remembered for her sharp wit, adventurous spirit and love of family holidays.

Sharyl was born in Los Animas, Colorado to Emmitt and Freeda Weekly. As part of a military family Sharyl had many homes throughout her childhood. She called Fresno CA, American Lake, Newport and Spokane WA her home. She earned her GED at the age of 35 and later graduated with an AA as a Diesel Automotive Mechanic from the Community Colleges of Spokane.

Sharyl overcame many obstacles and setbacks through her life. She was dedicated to building a better life for herself and her loved ones. She enjoyed socializing and genuinely liked being active. In her company, even introverts felt seen and accepted. It is no wonder her friendships endured a lifetime.

For most of her adult life, Sharyl worked as a caregiver. She took great pride and personal satisfaction from her profession. It was the norm for her to create projects and special activities to use in her work. She truly enjoyed seeing the clients she served try new things, engage more in life and look forward to their time with her.

Sharyl leaves behind a legacy of love in her family.

She is survived by:

Her husband - Stanley Barrick of Federal Way,

Her Children - Jeffery Peterson, Terressa Montgomery, Bryan Peterson, Darrel Peterson, Danielle Blair, and Michelle Morales,

Her Daughters in law Mitzi Peterson, Vicki Peterson and Julie Peterson,

Her 17 beloved grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren,

Her siblings – Twyla McCurley, Duwayne Weekly and Trina Campbell.

She was proceeded in death by her parents and her sister Betty Bews.
