Obituary of Patricia Harrell

Sumner resident, Patricia Harrell, passed away unexpectedly on December 3rd, 2006. She was born October 23rd, 1937 in Endicott, New York to Maynard and Catherine Brown. Patricia and her four children moved to Olympia, Washington in 1974, where she served as Executive Director of the Association for Retarded Citizens, and then as Director of Maternal and Child Health for the Washington State DSHS until her retirement in 1990. She received her degree from Evergreen State College in 1981, and her MBA in 1983. Patricia was a life-long advocate for the disabled, and was always there to help those in need. She is survived by her sons Timothy (Elizabeth), Christopher, and Stephen (Wendy) O’Connell, her daughter Kathleen (Jai) Kim, and sisters Miki, Judy, Cathy, Pamela and Joanne. Her 7 grandchildren all inherited her love of reading. A Rosary Service will be held Thursday evening at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Sumner. Funeral Services will take place on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Andrew Church, 1401 Valley Ave, Sumner, WA 98390.
