Obituary of Gaven Seastrum

Gaven Seastrum passed away unexpectedly in Graham, WA on June 25th, 2019 at the young age of 16. Gaven is survived by his parents, Seth and Rebecca Seastrum, an older sister Alexus Seastrum, and an older brother, Tylor Seastrum. Gaven was born on October 16th, 2002 in Marinette, WI. Gaven was part of a military family and lived in Menominee, MI, and El Paso, TX, before moving to Graham, WA in 2010; and became a Washington resident once his father left the service. Gaven was attending a summer school program to fulfill a PE credit so he could attend the Pierce County Skills Center to study fire science. Gaven was expected to graduate in 2021 where he had dreams of becoming a US Marine serving in the air rescue and firefighting units known as “ARFF Marines.” The most notable traits Gaven possessed were honor, dedication, determination, motivation, compassion, and strength (body and mind); just to name a few. If Gaven wanted to know about something, nothing was going to stop him from not only learning but mastering it. Gaven had one of the biggest hearts and would do anything for anyone, all while doing a proper one-handed push up. To say that he will be missed is an understatement, he was our light. A memorial service is scheduled for July 5th, 2019 at 11:00AM located at Holy Disciple Church, 10425 187th St E, Puyallup WA. Father Pat will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Gaven’s life. A reception will be held directly after the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations that will be used for a special scholarship award to be granted to a JROTC student on an annual basis. Donations can be made on the go fund me page by clicking here or by visiting the site at: https://www.gofundme.com/f/in-memory-of-gaven-seastrum . This scholarship fund will be Gaven’s way to continue to help others even after he is gone, Gaven always finds a way. Condolences can be sent to the Seastrum family at [email protected]
