Delores L. Arola, 84, of Tacoma, WA passed away peacefully in her home Wednesday, June 19, 2019 surrounded by family.
Delores was born July 13, 1934 in Molalla, OR to Louis and Bertha Walch. She grew up in Molalla with her parents and 3 siblings. Delores graduated from Molalla High School in 1952. On July 3, 1954, she married her high school sweetheart, LeRoy Arola in Cederdale, OR. Delores and LeRoy celebrated 49 years of marriage prior to LeRoy’s death in 2003. During this time, they raised two sons, Kent and Sid. Delores lived in Woodland, WA for 27 years until 4 years ago when she moved to Tacoma to be closer to her son Kent and his family.
Delores loved caring for her family, gardening, yard work, knitting, spending time at hunting camp with LeRoy and her boys and going to the beach with the Golden Girls. Days before she became ill you could find her in her yard tending to her flowers. She was especially proud of her roses.
She is survived by her two sons Kent (Astrid) of Tacoma, WA and Sid (Denise) of Craig, CO; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother Lawrence (Fritz) Walch of Molalla, OR; sister Esther Stoner of Franklin, IN and many nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her beloved husband LeRoy; parents Louis and Bertha Walch and sister Ruth Hepler.
A memorial service will be 11:00am June 25, 2019 at Parkway Presbyterian Church in Tacoma, WA and a graveside service at 11:00 am June 26, 2019 at Frank Abel Cemetery in Woodland, WA.
