Obituary of Donna Jean Henline

Donna Jean Henline, 57, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 28th, 2019, from injuries sustained in a pedestrian / vehicle accident in Lake Tapps, Washington. Donna was born October 9, 1961, in Albany NY to Eugene and Josephine O’Leary, and resided there until the age of twenty-four. After graduating from Siena College, she moved to New York City and she worked for Macy’s as a buyer of fine jewelry. She met her future husband in 1986 and moved to the Seattle area that same year. She worked as a personnel manager for the Bon Marche’, then started her family in 1992. Donna was tirelessly involved in her children’s education and the PTA. She soon became the “Master” of School Book Fairs, and was very active in school fund raising activities. Donna was very proud of her Italian and Irish heritage, and she had an infectious appetite for family, friends, and cooking. She loved outdoor activities and chose to stay fit through swimming, hiking, yoga, walks with friends, and skiing. She is survived by her husband, Dave Henline; sons Billy and Thomas Henline; grand daughter Lylah Marie Henline-Baldwin; sisters Christine Coons, Karen O’Leary, Linda Redick, Shelley Desforge; brother Chris Strohmaier; honorary sister Ellie Fox McDermott; honorary son Anton Ulrich; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father Eugene O’Leary; step father Edward Strohmaier and mother Josephine Strohmaier. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 4, at the Saint Andrews Catholic Church in Sumner, WA, followed by a reception at the Swiss Sportsmen’s Club of Tacoma in Bonney Lake.
