Obituary of Griffin James Marecle

Griffin James Marecle was born on June 25, 1976 in Provo, UT to Roderick and Marilyn Marecle. He lived in Provo, UT for a short time, moved to Southern Idaho for 9 years and then grew up in Puyallup, WA. Griffin was an amazing father, son, brother, friend, grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle, etc. He would make friends with someone everywhere he went. As a child, he loved playing sports, hanging out with friends, sneaking to the river and going to Dairy Queen. In his teenage years, he became a state-level swimmer and water polo player. The one constant in his life was working on vehicles - bikes, cars, anything with a motor. After high school, Griffin met his amazing wife Jessica and was married on July 10, 1999. They built a wonderful family with children Cobe, Carly and Cooper. Griffin’s love for his family was his number one priority. Griffin was a dedicated hard-worker and supported his family by working for Skanska Construction for over 18 years. Griffin loved being outdoors - wakeboarding, 4-wheeling, riding, watching kids play sports and camping. He was one busy guy with a gigantic heart. Griffin would do anything to help others - even if he just met you - work on your vehicle, give “the Grif talk” to all the sports kids, bring a gift from the job site, or just hang out. He would light up a room with his witty personality and strong voice. Unfortunately this loving soul was taken from us much too soon in an unexpected motorcycle accident on May 9, 2019 in Enumclaw, WA. He is survived by his wife Jessica Marecle; children Cobe, Carly and Cooper; mother and father Marilyn and Roderick Marecle; siblings Jamin Marecle and family, Natalie Emmett and family, Taylor Marecle and family, Spencer Marecle and family, Marissa Marecle and numerous extended family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Rainier View Christian 12305 Spanaway Loop Rd. S, Tacoma, WA 98444.
