Obituary of Robert L Phillips

Robert L Phillips went home to be with the Lord on January 22, 2019 at 12:40 am. He was born in Cheyenne Wyoming on May 28, 1962. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert L Phillips Sr and Elsa M Phillips as well as his son Joshua Ellis. He is survived by his wife, Ginnie Restrepo, his siblings Audrey, Valerie, Cynthia, Paul , and Patricia and his children Amy, RJ , Jessica and Jennifer his grandchildren Jonny , Damien, Rebecca , Kaitlynn, Vai, Scarlett and his aunt's, Christina, Anita and Karen. Robert was a real rascal growing up he was very funny and loved to tease us to get a reaction. He tried to escape out a window when he was 2 so our mom had to tie him to a chair so he would not get up and run again. When he went to his first day of kindergarten he decided he did not like it so he got up and walked out and went home. He loved going fishing and just hanging out. He worked for Alaska Fish Company later in life and when the ship was sinking he helped save lives. Robert loved his entire family very much and wanted to do the right things by all of them but he had struggles that he was unable to overcome in the end that took his life. we can say at the end of everything the core of Roberts being was his love for Jesus Christ and even in the midst of his troubles he made it a point to share the salvation message to those he came in contact with throughout his life. Yes he struggled with addiction it did not define him and he would encourage everyone to surrender their lives to Jesus Christ because you never know how long you have on this earth. When things would be hard and we would complain he would always quote his favorite scripture from Psalms 118:24 This is the day the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it. I believe Robert would ask you to consider asking Jesus into your heart because the Lord had mercy and grace upon him and Robert now resides in a new heavenly realm of glory where he is finally whole and free and know he is no longer in pain. Robert would want you to know how much he loves all you with all of his heart.
