Upon discharge, Bob joined a newly formed manufacturer’s representative agency, moving to Cincinnati, Ohio. It was there, in 1959, Bob met and married the love of his life, Mary Sideroff. Together, they raised three children: Barbara, Will, and Becky. In 1975, Bob started his own agency representing manufacturers of mechanical equipment for the building industry. Selling his business in 1995, Bob and Mary spent the next twenty years travelling the US, enjoying the early years of their six grandchildren: Brigitte and Gabe Schmittlein; Meg and Clay Holtzinger; Nathan and Miles Bickart. During that time, they maintained a winter home in Grenelefe, Florida, spending their summers in Redmond, Washington. In 2015, Bob and Mary moved to Emerald Heights in Redmond. Throughout his long life, Bob most of all treasured the time he spent with his family, but he also enjoyed many interests, including golf, tennis, pickle ball, bridge, bird watching, Bible study, reading, old movies, and listening to all types of music. He took special pleasure in playing cribbage with his grandchildren. Bob is survived by his wife, Mary, their three children and spouses (David Schmittlein, Sylvia Yee, and Don Holtzinger), six grandchildren, and his sister, Sharon (John Fetter), of Chalfont, Pennsylvania.
