Obituary of Carol Mae Baginski

Carol was born in Tacoma and was a long-time Puyallup resident, graduating from PHS in 1956. She was employed by the telephone company as an operator for several years before marrying Jim Baginski. They would have celebrated 60 years together in August 2019. She went on to use her phone operating skills as a switchboard operator for the Puyallup Fair where she worked part time for 44 years. She leaves behind her husband Jim, two sons Doug and Steve (Donna), two grandsons Todd and Tyler, her brother Tom (Sue) Babic, and preceding her in death was her brother Al Schroetlin—all who she loved dearly. Missing her also is her faithful dog “Cody” who was constantly by her side As an avid gardener with a green thumb, Carol loved shopping for flowers, planting them, watching them flourish, mowing the grass, raking leaves and making sure her yard was immaculate. Other hobbies included collecting cookbooks, tending the koi pond, and admiring the variety of birds on their little farm. She cherished the time spent with her best friends “The Girls” and always looked forward to their next outing. Carol delighted in her numerous trips to the ocean to care for their ocean property and to frequent the many shops and festivals. Another of her passions was watching old John Wayne movies and collecting his memorabilia. Battling cancer didn’t keep Carol from doing the things she loved! She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Heaven gained an angel. She left us all too soon but anybody who knew Carol knew she did not like to WAIT and always LEFT EARLY. No services at her request but a Celebration of Life will be held at the Puyallup Eagles, 202 – 5th Street NW, Puyallup, WA 98371 on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, from noon to 4:00 pm In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Puyallup Eagles Aerie #2308 Diabetes Fund in Carol's name. Private interment at Sumner Cemetery, Sumner Washington. "Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway!" John Wayne
