Obituary of Isaac Thomas Mattich

Isaac’s desire to soar through the stars as an astronaut came true far too soon on Sunday, August 20, 2006. He was suddenly called home to the heavens while swimming on vacation. The loss of our amazing boy has left us devastated and incomplete. Our hearts ache for his return only to be comforted knowing he is home in the glorious arms of God. Since his star was born on October 22, 1997, we have marveled at his constant quest for the “why’s” and “how’s” of life. Isaac was creative and brilliant beyond his eight years. He possessed a deep zest for learning. X-box, swimming, K’nex, Star Wars, reading, climbing trees and camping were just a few of the things that put a smile on his face and made his heart happy. He has forever changed the lives of friends, classmates and faculty at Ridgecrest Elementary. We are grateful for the unconditional love Ike received from his daycare families, teachers, the Children’s Therapy Unit at Good Samaritan Hospital, and the staff at the Ida Karlin Healing Center. We are blessed with a circle of loving friends whom we consider family. They are a constant source of comfort, peace and faith. “Thank you” can never convey the difference they have made in our lives. A heartfelt thank you to the many medical personnel who courageously carried us through this difficult time. You will forever b in our hearts. Forever Isaac’s stargazers are his parents Tom and Allison and sisters Alexandria and Samantha Mattich. Grandparents Ed and Ardene Mattich and Dick and Sandy Badham adored Isaac and miss his contagious grin. Other member of Isaac’s galaxy include Julie, MacKenzie, Nathan, Tom, Dori, Audrey, Jerry, Meri, Dale, Courtney, Katie, Rosie, Wally, Bob, Delma, Ceebee, Bob, Jarleth, Larry, Judi, many second cousins and loving extended family. We are confident that “Super Ike” was met in Heaven by Uncle Britt who recently preceded him in death. Together they can share their love of bonfires. Children are welcome and encouraged to attend funeral services to celebrate Isaac’s life and to hear a message of inspiration and hope. Services will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Community Church, 15116 Gary Street, Sumner, WA, 253-863-3352. Funeral arrangements by Funeral Alternatives of Sumner, WA. The “Isaac Mattich Memorial Fund” has been established at BECU to assist with funeral expenses. You are welcome to bring any photos or written memories of Isaac as a gift to the family.
