Obituary of Melvin T Maloney

Melvin T. Maloney passed away in Puyallup, WA. on September 16, 2009. He was born near Waubay, South Dakota on October 17, 1922 to Tom & Nellie (Burke) Maloney. He farmed near Webster, South Dakota for a number of years and later moved with his family to Seattle, Washington. He worked for the Boeing Company several years, and later was in the restaurant business for 20 years. He was a wonderful cook. He loved to fish, dance and enjoyed following the Mariners. He especially loved family gatherings as his family was very precious to him. He was loved by all who knew him and was a kind, loving man. He is preceded in death by his parents Tom & Nellie Maloney, brother Jim Maloney and two sisters Blanche Fiksdal and Marcella Maloney. He is survived by his wife, Arlene, one brother John (Dorothy) Maloney, two sons, Donnie (Joyce) Maloney, Dennis (Julie) Maloney and daughter Diane (John) Carlson. Grandchildren Debbie Potter, Shane (Delonna) Maloney, Marne (Milo) Garcia, Michele (Pat) Caplis and Jeff Maloney. Great-grandchildren Jesse and Amanda Potter, Fionn and Maeve Maloney, and Keira and Lorenzo Garcia. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Curnow Funeral Home, 1410 Main St, Sumner with a Memorial Mass on Wednesday, September 23rd at All Saints Catholic Church in Puyallup at 10:0 a.m. Interment will be at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery.
